Emma Chiappetta – Bio As Submitted

Emma Chiappetta is currently in her fifth year at Wasatch Academy where she serves as a math teacher and Curriculum Coordinator.

Every day, she strives to help her students see what it’s really like to be a mathematician and to see the beauty and power of mathematics. She works hard to design meaningful and engaging projects and assessments.

Emma also individualizes learning for each student by using a competency-based approach in her classroom. For her efforts, Emma was awarded “Best of State (Utah), Teacher of the Year” in 2017.

As the Curriculum Coordinator, Emma facilitates peer-to-peer learning among teachers. She works to help teachers find what sets them apart and helps them bring those skills to the forefront so that they can engage with students in an even more impactful way.
